A Message from Russel Field

These pictures show a father and grandfather, who delighted in his family. Whenever Bill and Betty would visit, they would always make themselves useful. Betty among many things, helped Ruth make curtains and organize the house. Bill would find a project to work on. I can not remember from where the baby pram came but when they came to see new born baby Emily, Bill brought this old rusted Pram. He worked diligently on sanding and painting and polishing this pram. It was beautiful when he was finished. We actually ended up using it as a crib for Emily's first months of her life.

Other visits brought other projects such as a screened in sand box for Emily and Lincoln to keep out black flies and unwanted cats and then there was the new sink and cabinet Bill installed in our bathroom. Bill and Betty were always giving a helping hand. This was much appreciated.

I was given another gift from Bill and Betty that I will never forget. When Ruth and I were becoming un-married, they called me up to ask how I was doing and said that if I ever needed anything, I was to called them and they would be there for me. With their love and this generous gift of support, I felt backed up, supported and loved. This was huge, and had, and still has had a significant effect on my life. After we divorced, with this support, I think Ruth and I worked very diligently to cooperate and keep the children first as our priorities. I thank Bill and Betty for their gifts. They gave us the strength to not lose sight, when times are difficult, of the importance of family.

With humble gratitude and love I send this message, Russel
