A Message from Clair Beckman

I heard through the rotary grapevine about Bill and just wanted to take a sec to tell him how I will never forget his generosity and sense of humor as we worked through trying to pull together a Faculty Housing Assistance Plan back eons ago at CU....My first visit to Frasier was at Bill's invitation when I was Pres. of then Bank One...I won't ever forget it because he invited community leaders and in his usual way invited a neighbor who was going to move in to Frasier shortly...Keep in mind this was well before Bill moved in, probably about 10 years ago when I was in my 40s....At any rate the afternoon started with lunch and a Frasier tour and it was of course most impressive. I was making conversation w/Bill's neighbor when she asked me how soon I would be moving in to which I replied, "well, I am really here to learn more about this all, but I kind of hope it won't be for awhile yet"....and yes I was a tad bit insulted.

THEN, the same day, I went to Pottery Barn Kids looking for stuff for my daughter's college dorm room and the salesperson came up and said, "Are you looking for something for your grandchildren??"...I was even more insulted ....and I proceeded on to a girl's night out at Susan Washings" home with my mother in law's Depends in the back of my car...This time I knew what to do to avoid insult..I walked in and made a grand announcement, "No I am not moving to Frasier, No I don't have grandchildren, and NO, those Depends in the back of the car belong to my mother in law....

Anyway, Bill, you are one in a million, a bright star and giver....thanks for all you have done to make this world a better place.

Clair Beckmann
