A Message from Andrew Mcgonigle

As you have reached a momentous point in your life, your journey continues. I am sure that you never saw it as a race, although you are considered by many as a very respected member of the Human Race (as witnessed by all of the posts I have read and continue to read). The nearest that I can come to thinking about your life is comparing it to Le Mans, the 24 hour endurance car race. This started just before your birth. The technological advances that have been made by mankind are often seen in motor racing, your advancements have been much more subtle although very visible to those around you.

You should consider the next portion of the journey that you are embarking upon as though you are entering into the pits. Those skilled mechanics helping you progress in the everlasting race. The finish line being your final goal, a place of never ending love and hope. A place where you can patiently wait, a skill I think you still might need a little guidance on, and look down on the continuing achievements of your family. It is through your values, that were instilled as they grew, that they will hold your name proudly aloft and say sweetly, "he is my father". The memory is always in the present tense and continues so.

Tomorrow is my birthday, as I sit on the lakeside tomorrow evening, a place I know you love, I will raise a glass in your honour.

This is the way that I will remember you, your grace, personality and great counsel. You are with me now and forever.

Andrew, Kathy, Madeleine and Emily Mcgonigle
